This paper examines the Georgian-language adaptation of the Argentine children’s telenovela Chiquititas (2000), commonly referred to in Georgia as Chiquititas 2000 qartulad . Broadcast in the early 2000s, the show became a significant cultural phenomenon for Georgian pre-adolescents and adolescents. Despite originating in Latin America, the series successfully navigated linguistic and cultural barriers through a professionally localized Georgian voice-over dubbing. This paper analyzes the dubbing process, the show’s narrative appeal, its role in shaping youth television consumption in post-Soviet Georgia, and the nostalgia it continues to evoke among millennials.
