Developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Vivendi Games, The Simpsons: Hit & Run was released during the golden age of licensed games. While many movie and TV tie-ins were rushed cash grabs, Hit & Run was a labor of love. It borrowed heavily from the Grand Theft Auto formula—open-world exploration, vehicle theft, and mission-based gameplay—but stripped away the graphic violence and replaced it with the sharp wit of the TV show.
