A: The Xbox One supports HEVC natively and should play this file fine via the Media Player app. The standard PlayStation 4 does not officially support HEVC, so the file will likely not play. The PS4 Pro does support it.

While 4K is the current standard, 1080p remains the "sweet spot" for bandwidth and hardware compatibility. Narcos Season 1 was mastered in 1080p natively for its original Netflix WEB-DL release. Upscaling to 4K does not add detail missing from the source; it merely guesses pixels. Therefore, a pristine 1080p copy is bit-for-bit the most authentic representation of the director’s intent, without unnecessary file bloat.
