Windows attempts to install a generic HID (Human Interface Device) driver.
The solution was found not in a driver, but in the registry. Advanced users discovered that by editing the Windows Registry keys under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM , they could manually force vibration support.
Press , type joy.cpl , press Enter . This opens the Game Controllers window.
But then, the weirdness begins.

Plug in the joystick, go to Settings > Update & Security, and click "Check for updates." Check "Optional Updates" for HID or Gamepad drivers.
